In 2014, Scott Eisemann was charged of defrauding a 92 year old woman in Toronto of more than $130,000. After pleading guilty, Eisemann was sentenced to two years in prison. In 2016, Eisemann opened Cottage Life Construction.

So why did Cottage Life Construction go bankrupt? In November of 2020, Cottage Life Construction filed for bankruptcy and was later charged with defrauding cottagers and his own contractors for more than $316,000. However, he did not stop there.

As of May 2021, Eisemann is facing a handful of new charges including three counts of fraud over $5000 as well as two counts of obtaining money under false pretences. Some say Eisemann started work he never completed and others say Eisemann stole their deposit.

One of Eisemann's subcontractors says he was paid with a fraudulent cheque.
