During any project, misunderstandings may arise leading to concerns or disputes. Renovation Trust has designed a process to help you through this.
Raising a Concern
If either party is unsatisfied with the outcome of a particular milestone, one can raise a concern. To do this, log into your Renovation Trust account and select the milestone you wish to raise a concern about. You will then need to click the "Concern" button. Raising a concern on a milestone freezes the project. During this time the project and the funds on the project will be frozen until the concern has been resolved. In order for the project to continue, both parties must reach a mutual agreement.
Filing a Dispute
If a mutual agreement cannot be achieved, either party may file a dispute. To do this, log into your Renovation Trust account and select the milestone you wish to dispute. By clicking the "File a Dispute" button, you will then need to pay an $89 dispute fee. In addition to freezing the project and the funds on the project, the dispute fee will pay for a mediator; someone who will be assigned to the project to help settle the dispute.
If a mediator is unable to help settle the dispute, the project and project money will be frozen until a mutual settlement has been reached, or an arbitrator/court with standing has provided a resolution.
