The Renovation Trust Protection Fee is based on a regressive incremental fee structure. The larger the amount deposited by the homeowner/buyer on a project, the lower the fee percentage.
By default, our fees are a 50/50 split between the contractor/seller and the homeowner/buyer. This means each party pays half of the overall fee. However, as a contractor you have a few other options with regards to how the fees are allocated.
1. Contractor All-Pay Option
The contractor/seller absorbs the homeowner/buyer fees and pays both shares of the Renovation Trust Protection Fee. If this is an option you prefer, you may want to be part of our Trusted Contractor program.
2. Contractor No-Pay Option
The homeowner has agreed to pay both shares of the Renovation Trust Protection Fee. This option is not recommended. See why here.
For more information on our fees or fee structure, see the explanation of our Contractor Protection Fee.
